Susan Haggerty
Susan began her journey to interpreting with a community based Sign Language class in 1980. Shortly after that she became involved in a Deaf Ministry at her church. When the youngest of her children was in school she entered the interpreting program at Northern Essex Community College , graduating in 1997. Upon graduation, she began work as a professional interpreter, specializing in post-secondary, medical and mental health interpreting. After becoming RID certified, CI 2000, CT 2001, and completing a Bachelor of Arts from Framingham State College in 2004, Susan sought a new challenge and entered the Master of Interpreter Pedagogy Program where she is currently finishing her degree. Studying Discourse Mapping through the MIP led her to further research this topic, and has created a desire to share it with others. Susan currently lives and works in Massachusetts with her husband. They have three grown children and two adorable grandchildren.
