Kathleen Alexander
Kathleen Alexander is an RID CI/CT, Missouri Advanced, Kansas 4/5 certified Interpreter. She is the founder/owner of Columbia Interpreting Services in Columbia , Missouri , which celebrates its ten year anniversary in 2008. Kathleen has been interpreting since 1994, after completing her Associates degree in the Study of American Sign Language at Vincennes University in Indianapolis . She then moved to Missouri , where she completed her BA degree in General Studies at Columbia College . She is a graduate from cohort four of the Master Mentor Program at Northeastern University in Boston . She also holds ASLTA Qualified certification and is currently enrolled in the Masters of Interpreting pedagogy at Northeastern University , with the expected graduation date of August 2008. Kathleen works as a full time interpreter and also oversees the daily business affairs of Columbia Interpreting Services. Her passion is mentoring and she currently mentors several students on language and interpreting skills. She teaches ASL I and II as foreign language credit in the evening program at Columbia College , Columbia , Missouri , where she also aspires to establish an Interpreter Training Program. Kathleen is the mother of three sons and recently welcomed her first grandson into their family. She and her husband, Randall, live in Rocheport , Missouri .
