Amanda H.F. Mueller
BA, CI/CT ~ Amanda has been interpreting professionally for fifteen years. She holds a BA from Valparaiso University , Valparaiso , IN , and continued her interpreter education at Harper College , Palatine IL , the University of Tennessee :PlaceName, Knoxville , TN , the Sign Language Associates' Mentorship program in DC and is now completing her MA at NEU in the Master of Interpreting Pedagogy Program. As a professional interpreter, Amanda has worked in a variety of settings throughout the country. As a student in the MIP, Amanda learned about discourse analysis through discourse mapping and has continued her studies in these areas. Eager to share discourse mapping with others, she joins the NEU team during the summer symposium where she will complete her teaching requirement for her MA degree. Currently, Amanda is an independent interpreter and presenter, serves as an advisory board member to a local university’s interpreting program, is a mentor, guest instructor, and a Mom of two energetic boys. She resides in Carmel, IN with her husband Jon, sons Dexter and Caden, and their two pitbulls.
