Sponsor Initiated

Any Continuing Education Activity Coordinator/Sponsor wishing to offer RID CEUs for a workshop, conference, etc. may apply to NURIEC for CEU sponsorship using the forms below. Sponsorship is subject to NURIEC approval of the activity, and limited to events occuring in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, the US Virgin Islands, and Vermont.

To apply for sponsorship, complete and submit the CEU Application and Forms AT LEAST 45 days prior to the activity. Make sure you complete all fields and provide all required documentation. It is strongly recommended that you read Writing Measurable Educational Objectives below before completing your application.

CEUs for traditional activities will be determined following the formula of one CEU being equal to ten contact hours.

Applications should be submitted via email to Alberto Sifuentes at a.sifuentes@neu.edu. If this is not feasible, please call 617-373-4302 (V/VP) or email Alberto to discuss your application prior to submitting.

Please be sure to talk with Alberto before designing and dispersing any flyers or other PR materials for your workshop. If the activity is approved for CEU sponsorship, all advertising must include the RID logo and a short blurb.

Confirmation: You will receive confirmation that we have received your application. If you do not receive this confirmation within two business days, call or email us to verify receipt.
Approved Events: You will receive a packet containing instructions and forms. Please contact us if you have not received this packet seven days before your event.

Writing Measurable Educational Objectives

One of the required fields on the form is to list your Measurable Educational Objectives. What are measurable educational objectives? Here are some questions you can ask yourself to draw measurable objectives from the workshop description.

How many key points does the instructor want students to "learn" from this workshop? Be specific. There are probably only about three or four main points.

How will learning occur? Remember that to incorporate new concepts we need to apply them. Active words such as discuss, practice, role-play, etc. tell us how learning occurs.
