| Sandra Gish is the Program Coordinator of the BS Degree Program in American Sign Language/English Interpretation at Western Oregon University. A CSC interpreter with almost 30 years experience, Gish has long been active in interpreter education, program development, and curriculum design. She holds a masters degree in Interpreter Education from Western Maryland College and is currently a doctoral student at Oregon State University where she is studying the ways in which interpreters create and retain meaning. Gish was named Western's 1995 Teacher of the Year and, in 1998, received the first R.I.D. Region V Interpreter Educator Award. Many know her for Ethics and Decision Making for Interpreters in Health Care Settings and the telecourse series on interpreting in medical settings, ethical decision-making, and information processing. | |
