Risa Shaw, a full-time faculty member in the Masters of Arts in Interpretation program at Gallaudet University, has maintained an active interpreting practice for the past 22 years, specializing in interpreting in legal settings. Risa is known for teaching on Team Interpreting, Analysis of Interpretations (feedback), The Interpreting Process, and Interpreting in Legal Settings. Risa has degrees in Interpreting, Linguistics, and Education, with a concentration in Teaching Interpretation. She has been an active member of the Conference of Interpreter Trainers since 1984 and RID since 1982. She hold s the CSC, CI and SC:L certifications. Risa's work has been published in the CIT Proceedings and newsletters, the RID Journal and the RID VIEWS, as well as in international publications.
