Norma is a Deaf native signer and a graduate of the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind and Gallaudet University. Holding a master's degree in Deaf Education from Boston University, Norma has taught Deaf preschoolers and kindergartners at The Learning Center for Deaf Children (TLC) in Framingham, Massachusetts since 1995. Norma has experience teaching and developing instructional materials on ASL vocabulary and grammar, and served as a Deaf mentor with the Educational Interpreter Mentorship Program, a three-month pilot program conducted during the fall of 2002. She has also worked with Deaf students, evaluating their ASL skills and providing ASL and Deaf studies curricula for their enrichment. She is also a mother of two children.
