Workshop Topic: Interpreting Process/Skills

Nancy Frishberg is the author of "Interpreting: An Introduction" (RID Publications), as well as numerous articles and book chapters about sign language linguistics, interpreting and human-computer interfaces. She holds a Ph.D. in linguistics from the University of California, San Diego, where her doctoral research focused on historical change in American Sign Language. Dr. Frishberg has taught fulltime at New York University, Hampshire College, and RIT; is an experienced presenter of pre-service and in-service workshops; and has been an active interpreter educator, program evaluator, and consultant since the mid-1970s. She combines perspectives from academia, freelance interpreting, and the business world, where for over 15 years she has worked in a variety of capacities in the technology industry.
