  • Teaching/Training: Community of Practice: Collaborating on Local Issues

Michael Labadie, CI and CT, NIC Master. At age 17, Michael dove into the world of interpreting volunteering his time to help Deaf friends communicate with others. His passion for finding meaning in people's expressions (both deaf and hearing) led him to work in private practice and as a staff interpreter, to mentor with colleagues, and to engage in ongoing training and dialogue. Now, over 30 years later, Michael applies a Vygotskyan approach to learning in his mentoring, workshops, and collaboration with his peers. Formerly from Massachusetts and Rhode Island, he and his partner Jeff now reside in the DC area as proud Dads of three great kids.
