Alberto Sifuentes

Alberto Sifuentes was born in El Paso, Texas and grew up in Mexico. He is only one deaf child in his large family members. He was mainstreamed in El Paso, Texas and then he went to Texas School for the Deaf in Austin, Texas during his high school. Alberto had been involved into many activities/sports and communities activities during his high school. He went to National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, New York to study in his major, Computer Graphic/Application Art from 1994 to 1997. Albo worked at Hillside Children Center as Youth, Family, Development Specific, Social Therapist, Senior Management, and Communication Therapist where he enjoyed working with people. He had been involved in many of communities activities such as GBLT organization, Dance Company, Drama and Artist Committee. Last, he moved to Boston July 2003 and worked as being Outreach Specialist for HIV/AIDS in Deaf, Hard of Hearing and DeafBlind communities at DEAF Inc., for his first few years. Now, Albo works at Northeastern University Regional Interpreter Education Center plus he is a current student at the School of Professional and Continuing Studies at N.U. He also still is involved into communities activities such as AIDS walk, New England GBLT for Deaf, Hard of hearing community and volunteers at DeafBlind communities activities.
