ARE YOU AN INDEPENDENT LEARNER?

The following 2 questionnaires are intended to help you understand whether independent/distance learning is appropriate for you. It works well to print these out so that you can simply circle your answers.

1. I prefer learning (select one only):

___ in a classroom or seminar setting.

___ on my own, if I am given clear guidelines, sources of information, mentoring and feedback.

___ I am comfortable with either.

___ I prefer combination of classroom and independent learning.

For the remaining questions, choose as many categories as are applicable.

2. When I begin a project that requires learning new skills or information I...

b. research the subject, gathering background information and identifying resources.
